We spent six sun, sweat soaked (say that six times fast) days in Moab, Utah. Six days were not enough. We had just enough time to fall in love but not enough to make our relationship Facebook official.
What is The Fog's favorite drink?... . . Mountain Dew. I'll be here all week, please tip your wait staff. #snoqualmie #snoqualmiepass #snowshoeing #snowshoe #mountainside #winterweather #winterwonderland #mountain_world
“The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness.” - John Muir This is why I hike with the @mountaineersorg to experience the PNW in it's entirety, rain or shine. What a great trip we had this past weekend up on Squak Mountain. Cheers to all my fellow Mountaineers, had a memorable day. #squakmountain #maplevalley #ourpnw #johnmuir
What a perfect morning we had... There was no need for an alarm, the sounds of the forest woke us up, just in time to climb out of our toasty bags and walk the shoreline as the sun brightened up our world. It was so quiet and still, just the three of us up and about. After a few quick shots headed back to get the coffee going. I would rather wake up here then in the most comfortable bed in the world. #sequim #olympic #olympicpeninsula #westcoastbestcoast #washingtonian
Did you miss me? I've been rather busy the past month or so, life seems to be moving so fast. I have spent so much time behind a screen preparing to teach photography classes that I made a conscious effort to stay off this platform. Finally last week Anna and I were able to get away and unplug with an impromptu camping trip out on the peninsula. Although it was a quick overnight trip, it was a breath of fresh air (pun intended) to get the camera out and enjoy a day without a screen. Hope you enjoy this shot. #sequim #olympic #olympicpeninsula #westcoastbestcoast #wetcoast
Have you ever thought that the photos you take of snow look gray? In my newest blog post (link in profile) I discuss how to leave the gray snow in the cities, and why your camera makes snow look gray. But most importantly how to bring back that brilliant white. I hope you all are enjoying your week, and getting out there to photography winter as much as possible. Cheers! #winterphotography #photographyblogger #photographytips #wenatcheecrest #snowshoe #winterinwashington
If you could live in any era of history, when would you choose? The last few years I have dedicated a large portion of my time to getting outside, and the result is, that I wish I lived in the pre-agricultural society of humanity. The time when we spent the entirety of our lives connected to nature. Only possessing the things we could carry, and when places like this would be a source of life. A place to get a drink, take a bath, or fish for dinner. It seems crazy that instead of that, I drove in a climate controlled box back to my other climate controlled box to share this digital image of a place we could have enjoyed together, maybe while talking over a campfire. Maybe it's just the PNW winter giving me cabin fever, but it was especially good to get out the other day and enjoy the blue light on these falls after sunset. I hope you enjoy, and maybe it can temporarily transport you to another time. #mtbakersnoqualmienationalforest #waterfallsofinstagram #waterfallphotography #waterfallwednesday #longexposhots
